Virgin PEEK Rod

Virgin PEEK Rod is an extruded bar made from 100% virgin polyetheretherketone resin. Also supplied as natural PEEK rod or unfilled PEEK rod, it contains no glass fiber, carbon fiber, or recycled content. Standard diameters run from 6 mm to 200 mm. Standard length is 1000 mm. Continuous operating temperature spans -50 °C to 260 °C. Short‑term peak reaches 300 °C. Natural (tan/light brown) and black are stock colours.

Key Performance Data

• Coefficient of friction 0.30–0.35 against steel, dry (ASTM D1894). No stick‑slip at low speeds.
• Tensile strength retains over 50 % of room‑temperature value at 250 °C (ISO 527). Long‑term service at 260 °C with zero chemical degradation.
• Resistant to steam, hot water, acids, bases, and all organic solvents. No weight gain after 30 days in concentrated HCl at 80 °C.
• UL 94 V‑0 down to 1.5 mm thickness. Limiting oxygen index 35 %. Smoke density Ds (ASTM E662, 4 min) below 0.05.
• Volume resistivity above 10¹⁶ Ω·cm. Dielectric strength 20 kV/mm. Insulation resistance stays stable after 96 h at 40 °C / 95 % RH.
• Low outgassing. Total mass loss (ASTM E595) below 0.5 %; collected volatile condensable material below 0.1 %.

Packaging & Container Loading

• Each rod wrapped in PE film → packed in 5‑ply corrugated box.
• Boxes stacked on ISPM 15 heat‑treated fumigated pallet (1.1 m × 1.1 m).
• Maximum pallet gross weight: 800 kg.
• 20GP container: approx. 10 pallets; 40HQ: approx. 20 pallets.

Quality Control

• Incoming inspection: PEEK resin melt flow index and density verified per batch.
• In‑line monitoring: diameter and straightness checked with laser micrometer on 10 % of rods per shift.
• Batch traceability: unique lot number laser‑marked on each rod. Traceable to resin lot and extrusion date.
