Borosilicate Glass Round Tube — Type I 3.3 & 5.0, Clear & Amber

Borosilicate glass round tube is a low-expansion, high-durability glass tubing designed for laboratory, pharmaceutical, and industrial applications. It withstands rapid temperature changes and aggressive chemical exposure without cracking or leaching.

Applications

Our borosilicate glass round tubing serves as the primary material for:

  • Laboratory & Research — Beakers, flasks, test tubes, culture tubes, and distillation setups

  • Pharmaceutical — Ampoules, vials, glass syringes, and injectable drug packaging

  • Industrial Engineering — Sight glasses for boilers, flow meters, and chemical pipelines

  • Lighting & Electronics — High-power LED covers, flash tubes, and UV lamp outer tubes

  • Renewable Energy — Outer tubes for solar thermal vacuum collectors

Material & Specifications

Available in two standard borosilicate compositions:

3.3 Borosilicate (Type I, Class A) — Linear expansion coefficient of 3.3 × 10⁻⁶ K⁻¹. Higher thermal shock resistance, suitable for direct flame work and demanding laboratory use.

5.0 Borosilicate (USP Type I) — Linear expansion coefficient of 4.9 × 10⁻⁶ K⁻¹ (20ºC–310ºC). Designed for pharmaceutical packaging and parenteral drug delivery systems.

Both grades are available in clear and amber colors, with processing options including cutting, grinding, fire polishing, annealing, sealing, and bending.

Certifications & Quality

Our borosilicate glass round tube complies with ISO 3585ASTM E438 Type IUSP Type I, and DIN 12116 standards. Every batch undergoes dimensional tolerance, strain, and chemical composition testing. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is available for each shipment.

Evidence & Examples

Inspection Report — Each production batch is tested for thermal expansion coefficient, hydrolytic resistance at 121°C, and dimensional accuracy. Full test data is documented in the batch COA.

Customer Case — A European laboratory equipment manufacturer switched to our 3.3 borosilicate glass round tube for distillation apparatus production. The tubes maintained dimensional consistency within ±0.25 mm across 5,000 units, eliminating rework and assembly failures.
