Skived PTFE Tape is produced by peeling a thin layer from a sintered 100% virgin PTFE billet. No adhesive. No plasticizer. Standard thicknesses are 0.05, 0.10, 0.25, 0.35, and 0.50 mm. Standard widths range from 10 mm to 1000 mm. Standard roll length is 100 m. Continuous operating temperature spans -200 °C to 260 °C.

Applications

  • Thread seal tape for chemical pipe joints
  • Electrical wire wrapping and phase insulation
  • Release surface for heat sealing machines
  • Gasket and flange liner
  • Cable insulation in aerospace and automotive
  • Corrosion protection wrap for shafts and rollers

Key Performance Data

  • Zero moisture absorption (<0.01%). Dimensional stability maintained in 100% humidity.
  • Static friction coefficient 0.04–0.08 against polished steel. No stick-slip behavior.
  • Chemically inert to all industrial chemicals except molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine at elevated pressure.
  • No degradation after 1000 hours at 260 °C. Remains flexible at -200 °C.
  • Flame rating UL 94 V‑0. Self-extinguishing, no dripping.
  • Dielectric strength exceeds 60 kV/mm for tapes 0.10 mm and thinner.

Certifications & Compliance

  • ISO 9001:2015 — certified quality management system.
  • RoHS (Directive 2011/65/EU) — compliant.
  • REACH (EC) 1907/2006 — PTFE exempt from registration; no SVHC above 0.1% w/w.
  • FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 — suitable for repeated food contact (natural, unpigmented grades only).
  • Third-party test reports for dielectric strength, tensile, and thickness tolerance available upon request.

Packaging & Container Loading

  • Tape wound on 76 mm (3″) paper or plastic core → PE bag wrap → 5‑ply corrugated box.
  • Boxes stacked on ISPM 15 heat-treated fumigated pallet (1.1 m × 1.1 m).
  • Maximum pallet gross weight: 800 kg.
  • 20GP container: approx. 10 pallets; 40HQ: approx. 20 pallets.

Quality Control

  • Incoming inspection: virgin resin DSC melting point and moisture content verified per batch.
  • In‑line monitoring: thickness measured continuously by laser gauge during skiving. Dielectric puncture test every 200 linear meters.
  • Batch traceability: each roll labeled with unique lot number. Traceable to billet number and skiving date.
